  • Cost of production is higher than LCD’s.

AMOLED Advantages:

  • Thinner and more flexible than LCD’s.

  • No screen size limit.
  • Higher contrast ratio.
  • Consumes less power when a dark colour is displayed.

AMOLED Disadvantages:

  • AMOLED do not have backlight so poor display in direct sunlight.
  • Usually consumes more power when brighter colour is displayed.
  • Like OLED, this also has shorter life-span due to organic compound.
